What a season server gives you
Joining a season grants three big things:
- Massive XP boost on a fresh character, so the early game takes days instead of weeks.
- Access to season-exclusive gear (Tuvala) that enhances with season materials instead of your silver.
- A guided objective list — the season pass — that pays out failstacks, materials and rewards as you complete normal play.
None of it is gated behind pearls. Season is Pearl Abyss's deliberate new/returning player system, and it shows in the tuning.
The Tuvala gear system, explained
Tuvala is the season gear set. You earn it from quests and season rewards, then enhance it with season-specific stones earned from grinding and season content. The key property: it enhances more cheaply and safely than normal boss gear, using materials that do not compete with your real silver.

Who should use one
- Brand-new players: Season is the intended first experience — guided, boosted, and it ends with a real character.
- Returning players whose account is years behind: a fresh season character bypasses 'where do I even start.'
- Players who want a second/alt class: seasons recur, so every few months there is a cheap lane to spin up another class at relevant gear.
- Skip it only if you have a fully established main and no interest in alts or graduation rewards.

The limits you need to know
- Season characters are confined to season servers until graduation — you cannot immediately grind normal endgame spots.
- Season pass objectives expire with the season window; a season you start late is a race against its end date.
- Tuvala caps below absolute endgame — it graduates you into the mid-game, not past it. You still chase boss gear, caphras and Kharazad after.
- Only one season character per season for the main rewards (additional chars get reduced benefits).

Graduation: what carries over
When the season ends (or you graduate early), the character moves to the normal server and everything stays: levels, gear, inventory, life skill progress.
