Enhancement in BDO is a gamble; Caphras Stones are the part that is not. Caphras add hidden stat points to your gear directly — no enhancement attempt, no failure, no downgrade — which makes them the safest silver-per-stat spend in the endgame. The catch is that they only matter once your gear is already enhanced, and their value drops sharply after the first few levels on each piece.

What Caphras Stones do

Each Caphras Stone fed to a piece of gear adds a small amount of hidden AP or DP to it. You can see the progress on the gear tooltip, and every few levels the gear gains an actual +1 AP or +1 DP stat — these jumps are called Caphras breakpoints.

Because there is no failure state, Caphras is the reliable alternative to blowing up gear: if you have the stones, the stat is guaranteed.

How they work on your gear

  • Only enhanced gear (usually PRI+) accepts Caphras, and only up to a cap per piece based on enhancement level.
  • Feeding is done via the black spirit UI — click Caphras on the gear, confirm, and the stone count climbs.
  • Levels are invisible as a stat line until the breakpoint, then +1 AP or +1 DP appears on the tooltip.
  • Caphras on a piece is not lost if the gear later downgrades on a failed tap — but it is wasted if you planned to sell the piece, since the stones are partially refunded, not fully.

The breakpoints that matter

The first and second breakpoints on a weapon or armor piece are where Caphras is genuinely efficient — cheap relative to the AP/DP they grant. Level 10 is the famous one: on most weapons the level-10 breakpoint is worth +1 AP, and on armor +1 DP, for a stone cost that is a fraction of what a raw enhancement level would cost.

Past level 10 the stone requirement per level climbs steeply while the stat gain stays +1 per few levels, which is why guides say Caphras 'to 10' — not to 20.

Stone prices swing with events and the market, so check the Central Market before you commit — but the pattern holds: the early levels are efficient, the later ones are polish.

Where to get them

  • Central Market — the reliable source, price varies with events.
  • Dark Rift and boss rewards — slow but free drip.
  • Events and season rewards — Caphras bundles are common compensation items.
  • Caphras-only grind spots — only worth it if the trash and drops also pay; check the spot's silver/hour first.

If you buy them on the market, the real question is opportunity cost: the same silver in a bracket-crossing AP upgrade usually beats Caphras on a piece that is not your bottleneck.

The bottom line

Caphras is the safest silver-per-stat spend in the endgame — feed to the breakpoint (level 10) on the gear that gates your next bracket, and stop. Early levels are the best value in the game; late levels are for accounts that are done everywhere else.

Use Caphras to cross thresholds without gambling, then let raw enhancement and gear lines handle the big jumps. The two systems complement each other — that is the whole trick.
