Edania Part 2 brought BDO's new best-in-slot accessories: Ekreta and Aperon. Both reach identical stats at the final DEC (X) stage — but the road to get there could not be more different. One is family-bound and preserves your Kharazad investment; the other trades on the Central Market and is enhanced the old-school way.
What they are
Both accessories give AP and DP — a meaningful change from the Kharazad line, which only pushed AP. They drop from, or are crafted from materials in, the new Inner Edania hunting grounds, and they are the gear ceiling the region is built around.

The Kharazad exchange
If you own a high-stage Kharazad accessory, Ekreta is how you carry that investment forward. Take the "[Ekleta Accessory] Chlorins' Experiment" quest from the Black Spirit, then trade to NPC Chlorins at Angavu Outpost in Edania: a NOV (IX) Kharazad converts to a base Ekreta, and a DEC (X) Kharazad converts to a TET (IV) Ekreta. The family-restricted prerequisite is done once; repeat exchanges have no fixed limit. A base Ekreta can also be traded back for a NOV Kharazad — but not once enhanced past PRI.
- NOV (IX) Kharazad → base Ekreta; DEC (X) Kharazad → TET (IV) Ekreta.
- Cups already mounted on the Kharazad carry over — no need to strip them first.
- Do not abandon the exchange quest after submitting the accessory; the item is not returned in its original state.
- Ekreta is family-engraved, so it locks to the family that made the trade.
How enhancing differs
Ekreta enhances like Kharazad: one Causality Shardstone per attempt, failure costs 20 max durability and can drop the stage, and Cron Stones reduce the stage-drop risk. Shardstones are crafted per slot (necklace, earring, ring, belt) from Twilight of the End, Caphras Stones, Magical Shards and Essence of Dawn — Twilight of the End lists on the market around 450–550M silver. Aperon enhances the classic way: consume an unenhanced Aperon of the same slot per attempt, with tradeable supply feeding the market.

One more thing worth noting: the Causality Hammer from the recent login rewards can be applied to Ekreta and Aperon accessories at PRI (I) or higher — a free-ish push for whichever path you choose, so grab it while the event runs.
Rule of thumb: The stats converge at the end; the decision is really about family locks versus market liquidity. Decide that first, then build.
