Three days after the September 17 patch, the question Edania players are actually asking is not where to grind. It is whether the new throne is worth the trouble. The short answer splits cleanly in two: the boss subjugation is worth doing every week, and the throne is worth attempting only if you already enjoy fighting other players on a timer. The patch added Hadum's domain, Voidekaia, and with it a weekly subjugation whose entry bar sits above every gate the region has used so far, a chest that is a strict superset of the best Inner Edania chest, and a throne that pays the largest tax base in the game to exactly one player per server per week.

That last number - 25 billion silver as a base amount - is the kind of figure that gets screenshotted and shared without context. This guide is the context.

The new gate sits above the zone it guards

Start with the numbers, because they contain the first surprise. Event Horizon, the monster zone you farm to earn the weekly token, recommends 420 displayed AP and 505 displayed DP. The Hadum boss subjugation at the end of that zone asks for 428 displayed AP and 520 displayed DP. That is eight displayed AP and fifteen displayed DP above the ground you are standing on when you earn the right to try. There is a genuine band of players who can farm Event Horizon comfortably and still be locked out of its boss.

GateRequirement
Event Horizon zone (recommended)420 displayed AP / 505 displayed DP
Hadum boss subjugation (Voidekaia)428 displayed AP / 520 displayed DP

Excluded from the gear checkArtifacts and Alchemy Stones
MountsHeuklang cannot be mounted during the subjugation
Weekly throne limitOne throne per week, counting Outer Edania
Weekly quest limitOne boss subjugation quest, Inner or Outer Edania

For scale, the previous ceiling was Aresion's throne at 420 displayed AP and 505 displayed DP, with Magaia at 415 and 495. The new gate is eight AP and fifteen DP above the highest gate that existed before it, and it is the only one in the region that is stricter than the monster zone it belongs to. If you were comfortable at Aresion, you are not automatically comfortable here.

One structural note worth internalising early: these are displayed stats, not total stats. The patch lists them as required displayed AP and DP, and the same displayed-versus-total split applied to every Inner Edania zone requirement when the region launched in August. Players who read the requirement off the wrong column will misjudge the gap by a wide margin.

What the Hadum subjugation actually is

The weekly quest is [Weekly] For the Throne: Voidekaia. Once you have accepted it, you enter through a dedicated UI into a private challenge space - the patch note is explicit that you fight undisturbed by other Adventurers. That detail matters more than it reads. You are not racing a crowd for the tag on a world spawn, and you are not competing with a guild that arrived first. The kill is yours once you are inside, which makes the subjugation a gear and execution check rather than a contested spawn.

Voidekaia is Hadum's domain, the fifth and final chapter of Edania Part II and the region Pearl Abyss presented at Heidel Ball 2026 as the close of that storyline. The zone itself is Event Horizon. As with the other Inner Edania bosses, expect the Black Spirit's Rage mechanic introduced with the region: when the boss's gauge glows red, a Black Spirit's Rage 100% skill is what fills it and clears the pattern. Bring the rage skills you normally never press.

The second thing the weekly does is structural, and it is easy to miss. Completing For the Throne: Voidekaia is what unlocks the rest of Inner Edania's weekly board - the zone purification quests for Aetherion, Nymphamare, Orbita, Tenebraum, Zephyros, Aphrodon, Hermesia, Magaia and Aresion all become available to Adventurers who have finished it. Community guides also list a follow-up weekly, One Who Defies the End, which converts Twilight of the End accessories into silver, reported at a cap of ten accessories per week. Even if you never set foot on a throne, the subjugation is the key that turns on the region's weekly economy.

The three-hour token is the whole scheduling problem

The quest pays two things: an Edana Rising Token - Voidreach, and the Edania: Voidreach Chest. The chest you can open immediately. The token is the part that requires planning, and the rules are unforgiving in a way that is easy to misread.

  • The token can only be used during the Throne of Edana application period that was active when you obtained it.
  • It expires three hours after acquisition.
  • You cannot bank it for a better week, and you cannot carry it into the next application window.
  • You can challenge only one throne per week, and that limit counts Outer Edania as well.
  • You can accept and complete only one weekly boss subjugation quest across Inner and Outer Edania combined.

The practical rule that falls out of this: do not hand in the weekly on Thursday reset and assume you are early. If the application window is not open when the token lands in your inventory, the token is a three-hour countdown to nothing. Complete the subjugation inside the application window, then walk straight into the throne. Treat the token as a perishable, because that is what the patch made it.

The contrast with the Outer Edania castles is worth noting. Pearl Abyss extended both the registration period and the token validity for the Outer Edania thrones in a later pass, precisely so players had time to plan. The new Voidreach token is pinned to three hours. It is the tightest window attached to any Edania throne.

Then there is the opportunity cost, which is the real reason to think before you accept the quest. One throne per week, counting Outer Edania, and one weekly boss subjugation quest across both regions. Choosing Voidekaia means giving up an Outer Edania throne for that week. Given that Voidekaia is also the key to the rest of Inner Edania's weekly board, the trade is usually worth making - but it is a trade, not a free addition.

What the Voidreach chest pays

This is where the update gets generous. The Edania: Voidreach Chest is a guaranteed payout, not a roll, and every line below arrives at once.

On top of the guaranteed list, the chest can drop Apeiron Necklace, Ring, Belt or Earring, plus Silent Crystal of Origin and Distorted Crystal of Origin at low probability. Those Apeiron pieces are the same accessories that made Crimsonflare the only chest worth pushing for in the previous tier - and Voidreach keeps them.

Now compare it against Crimsonflare, the Aresion chest that was the previous best. Voidreach does not trade anything away to reach its higher payout; it simply adds.

The reading is simple: eight displayed AP and fifteen displayed DP buy you one extra Piece of Edana, five more Caphras, a four-piece Twilight selection box, two stacks of seven Perfumes and twelve 1,000G gold bars. For anyone already able to clear Aresion's throne, that is a favourable exchange rate on stats you will accumulate anyway. For anyone who cannot clear Aresion yet, Voidreach is a later target, not a shortcut.

The patch also added a second route to Twilight of the End gear: heating a Causality Shardstone of a given slot now yields Twilight of the End accessories of that slot, with the patch table listing an output quantity of five. That sits alongside the chest's selection box and the coin exchange below, which together mean the accessory line is no longer purely a monster-zone drop.

Agris Gold Coin Tier 4, and the new Tachyon Legacies

The same patch opened Tier 4 of the Agris Gold Coin Family Exchange. These are once-or-limited purchases per Family, so the decision is about order rather than volume - and the two Advice of Valks entries are the scarce items.

Sharp Black Crystal Shard15820

Caphras Essence5058

Read the coin column as a price list and the ranking writes itself. Caphras Essence at 5 coins for 50 is the cheapest item per coin by a wide margin, which is consistent with Caphras being the universal currency of gear progression. Cron Stones at 30 for 8 coins, Sealed Black Magic Crystal at 25 for 8 and Sharp Black Crystal Shard at 15 for 8 all sit in the same band. The two Twilight of the End accessories at 50 coins each, ten times over, are the largest single sink on the board - 500 coins for the pair - and they are worth it only if you are actively pushing that accessory line.

Feeding the exchange is a new set of sources. Twenty new Tachyon Legacies and Traces were placed throughout Inner Edania; they start at locations marked by a blue effect, and completing a legacy's trial grants Agris Gold Coins. If you have been treating Tachyon content as optional flavour, the coin economy just gave it a reason to exist.

The Sunday fight, and who it is really for

Defeating Event Horizon grants eligibility to become the Edana who rules that region. Every Sunday, the sitting Edana faces challenges from other Adventurers, and a new Edana is determined through those battles. The last Adventurer standing ascends the Throne of Edana and receives the privileges and rewards that come with it. Event Horizon has been added to Menu (ESC) - Throne of Edana, and the application period, battle rules and Edana privileges are identical to those of Outer Edania.

The honest framing is that this is a PvP tournament with a 428 displayed AP and 520 displayed DP entry fee, contested by players who have optimised specifically for it. The gate does not filter for participation - it filters for people who already fight for thrones. For the overwhelming majority of players, the weekly subjugation is the content and the throne is a spectator sport with a very large prize attached.

That is not a criticism. It is a budgeting decision. The chest pays every week to anyone who clears the boss. The throne pays one person per server per week, and it costs you an Outer Edania throne slot to attempt. If your goal is gear, the chest is the correct target and the throne is noise. If your goal is the throne, you already knew that before reading this.

The Dawn Crystal rule that changed Outer Edania too

One line in the patch notes has consequences well beyond Voidekaia: you cannot enter the throne while equipped with any Dawn Crystal other than Dawn Crystal - All AP transfused. Critically, that restriction also applies to the existing Throne of Edana content across Edania - so it is retroactive across all ten castles, not just the new one.

Pearl Abyss signalled this direction at Heidel Ball 2026, describing the throne as moving from having no gear restriction to requiring a defence-focused stat increase that presupposes the All AP Dawn Crystal. In practice it means one specific crystal variant is now the price of admission. If your throne build is running a different Dawn Crystal, it needs rebuilding before Sunday, and no amount of AP elsewhere substitutes for it.

What the crown is worth: the full tax table

The Edana's headline privilege is the accumulated tax on Marni's Realm entry scrolls sold inside their domain. The mechanic is straightforward: each castle has a base amount, an entry scroll price and a tax rate, and the pool is the base plus the tax rate applied to every scroll sold. Pearl Abyss publishes all ten castles, and the new Voidekaia row tops the table on every column.

Castle / domainBase amountMarni's Realm scrollTax rateTax per scroll sold
Aetherion3B50M0.40%200,000
Nymphamare5B70M0.30%210,000

Aresion (Aal)23B140M0.45%630,000
Voidekaia (Hadum)25B150M0.50%750,000

The last column is the one nobody computes, and it changes how you read the tax rate. Voidekaia's 0.5% is the highest of the ten, but 0.5% of a 150 million silver scroll is 750,000 silver per sale. To add a single billion silver on top of the base, the domain would have to sell roughly 1,333 Marni's Realm scrolls in a week. The rate is close to decoration; the base amount is what actually pays, and the base is simply a function of how prestigious the castle is.

Two rules soften the number further. No tax accumulates in a region with no Edana, so an unclaimed throne pays nothing at all. And scrolls bought by the Edana themselves are not taxed. The 25 billion figure is the ceiling of the base, not a guarantee.

The rest of the crown's value is administrative, and it is genuinely useful if you hold it:

PrivilegeWhat it does
CrownSeven-day temporary item equipped in the Pearl Outfit helmet slot; the Inner Edania crown is delivered to Angavu Outpost Storage
World ChatNo Energy or Megaphone cost, with a unique icon and colours in World, Server and General chat
TravelNo server change cooldown inside the domain, and instant teleport to the castle - unusable while carrying trade items
SurvivalInstant revival with no death penalty inside the domain, even at negative Karma
VisibilityYour Family name is displayed for the occupied castle on the World Map
Edana's BlessingA drop-rate buff that applies across all servers and stacks with Arsha and Conquest Lord buffs, listed at a maximum of Item Drop Rate +500%

One housekeeping detail on the payout: accumulated taxes are sent automatically to the previous Edana's Black Spirit's Safe when the throne changes hands, with the details delivered by in-game mail. If the same Edana holds the position for another term, one week's worth of taxes is distributed automatically rather than waiting for a turnover.

The bottom line

Run the Hadum subjugation every week - the Voidreach chest is a strict upgrade over Crimsonflare and the quest unlocks the rest of Inner Edania's weekly board. Then decide separately whether to spend the token on a Sunday PvP tournament that only one player per server can win. And before either, check your Dawn Crystal: only the All AP variant gets through the door, and that rule now applies to every throne in Edania.

The September 17 patch did something slightly unusual for a region finale. It made the reward for the soloable part strictly better than the reward for the competitive part's prerequisite, and then it made the competitive part optional. The chest is a guaranteed, repeatable, well-itemised payout behind a gear check you can measure. The throne is a contest behind the same gear check plus a Dawn Crystal rule plus a three-hour token window plus an entire server of opposition.

So the order of operations is unambiguous. Raise your displayed AP and DP to 428 and 520. Swap in the All AP Dawn Crystal. Run the subjugation inside the application window rather than on Thursday reset. Open the chest. Then, if you want the crown, go take it - and if you do not, you have lost nothing that mattered.
